A Shepherdstown Film Society presentation

Babette’s Feast (1987)
Director: Gabriel Axel
Join us as we kick off the Shepherdstown Film Society’s Fall 2025 Season! The Film Society’s goal is to screen “Films That Make You Think” and we think they have selected an outstanding collection of four films for the Fall Season!
Babette’s Feast is an acclaimed classic and winner of an Oscar for Best Foreign Film. In Danish with English subtitles.
During the late 19th century, a strict religious community in a Danish village takes in a French refugee from the Franco-Prussian War as a servant to the late pastor’s daughters.
Pre-Film Reception starts at 6:30 pm! Join Film Society members and friends to celebrate the start of the Film Society season with our own “lite” version of Babette’s Feast. Open to all.
Post-Film Discussion: Facilitated by Shepherd University Professor Rachel Krantz. You are invited to stay after the film to share your impressions and learn more about this film.
