Joyeux Noël tells the remarkable true story of the Christmas Truce of 1914, when soldiers on the Western Front — French, Scottish, and German — set down their weapons on Christmas Eve and ventured into no man’s land to exchange gifts, share carols, and bury their dead side by side. A moving and quietly devastating portrait of humanity in the midst of war, it is a timely reminder that the instinct for peace can surface in the most unlikely places.
