Shepherdstown Opera House Non-Discrimination Policy
The Shepherdstown Opera House is committed to providing an inclusive, welcoming, and accessible environment for everyone who attends, participates in, works with, or volunteers for our programs and events.
The Opera House does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, ancestry, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, marital status, familial status, veteran or military status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, West Virginia state, or local law, in any of the following:
- Admission to and participation in performances, screenings, and events
- Ticketing, pricing, and pay-what-you-can access programs
- Employment, hiring, and volunteer opportunities
- Rentals and use of the facility by outside organizations and individuals
- Programming decisions and partnerships with community organizations
This policy applies to all staff, volunteers, contractors, and members of Shepherdstown Opera House, LLC, and extends to all Opera House programs, including but not limited to Town Run Theater Company and the Shepherdstown Film Society.
The Opera House is committed to physical accessibility, including barrier-free main-level access, ADA-compliant entryway, restroom, and seating areas, and free assistive hearing technology (AudioFetch) for patrons who are hard of hearing.
